Celebrating the Rescue Efforts of Sir Nicholas Winton

with Barbara Winton, daughter of Nicholas Winton and survivor of the Winton transports, Dr. Renata Laxova.

wintonJoin us for a screening of the documentary, Nicky’s Family followed by a discussion with Barbara Winton, the daughter of  Sir Nicholas Winton, an Englishman who organized the rescue of 669 Czech and Slovak children just before the outbreak of World War II. Dozens of Winton’s “children” have been found and to this day his family has grown to almost 6,000 people, many of whom have gone on to achieve great things themselves. One of those children will also speak, Dr. Renata Laxova who was rescued at 7 years old and when on to be a pediatric geneticist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
