Stories of Survival: Finding Refuge in Cincinnati

June 29, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Navigation

A Speaker Series presented in partnership with the Center for Holocaust & Humanity Education and RefugeeConnect

Connect with a Burundi refugee who spent much of his childhood confined to a camp with only the most basic resources before being safely resettled in the United States, and is now pursuing his education at a Cincinnati university.

Hundreds of thousands of families from the central African nation of Burundi are fleeing violence, extrajudicial killings, abduction, torture, and persecution. Many Burundi refugees are children who arrive at camps unaccompanied and separated from their families
