Dr. Baron will trace and account for the shift from the image of rescuers of victims of genocide and persecution as courageous heroes like Oskar Schindler and Paul Ruseabagina.
Dr. Lawrence Baron has held the Nasatir Chair of Modern Jewish History at San Diego State University since 1988 and directed its Jewish Studies Program until 2006. He has authored four books including Projecting the Holocaust into the Present: The Changing Focus of Contemporary Holocaust Cinema. He is the founder and current president of the Western Jewish Studies Association.

This program is presented in partnership with the University of Cincinnati Judaic Studies department.
