Educator Workshop: Culturally Responsive Teaching: Curriculum Done with Care
November 10, 2015 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
This educator workshop will engage participants in a culturally responsive examination of common core-inspired teaching practices such as using textual evidence, historical fiction, and differentiation. We will discuss how through a study of the Holocaust, teachers can help their students access important learning goals.
Workshop includes:
– The testimony of Holocaust survivor, Dr. Al Miller who will share his experiences growing up in and his escape from Nazi Germany.
– Tour of the Fitton Center for Creative Arts and preview of their soon to be opened exhibition FAITHMARKS.
– Lunch will be provided and contact hours are available.
Participants must have completed an Echoes & Reflections training with the updated guide.
