Roma and Sam Kaltman Holocaust Studies for Educators 2021

June 14 - June 30

Roma & Sam Kaltman Holocaust Studies for Educators 2021: June 14-30, 2021

Educators are invited to join the Holocaust & Humanity Center for a multi-week institute that will give them effective and engaging techniques for teaching the Holocaust in their classrooms.

Studies show that students who study the Holocaust are more empathetic, caring and demonstrate higher critical thinking skills. The Holocaust lends itself to an interdisciplinary approach and can be taught through Social Studies and beyond. English Language Arts, Music, Art, Science, Geography, World Religions, and many more subjects can be meaningful avenues to study the Holocaust.

The Holocaust is a case study to help us act in our present time. It is a lesson to help reflect on how we can inspire young people to be engaged citizens and stand up against prejudice and hatred of all kinds.

During the 2021 Roma & Sam Kaltman Holocaust Studies for Educators, learn the most effective and engaging techniques for teaching the Holocaust in your classroom. From June 14 through June 30, HHC will host live Zoom sessions featuring renowned Holocaust scholars & experts like DORIS BERGEN, PETER HAYES, WENDY LOWER, JAKE NEWSOME, DAVID M. CRANE, MICHAEL A. MEYER, GARY ZOLA, ELIZABETH BAER, KATHERINE SORRELS, EWA SCHALLER, LAURA COHEN, CHRISTINA CHAVARRIA & HHC STAFF. CLICK HERE to view biographies of the speakers.
