Circles of Humanity: Finding Reflection, Connection, and Purpose After ‘Auschwitz’

The exhibition Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. at Cincinnati’s historic Union Terminal is one of the most significant and emotionally powerful exhibits to visit. It’s a rare opportunity to witness artifacts and stories from one of history’s darkest chapters.

But it isn’t an easy experience. It’s not meant to be.

That’s why the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center is offering something truly meaningful throughout the exhibition’s run: Circles of Humanity.

What is Circles of Humanity?

Think of it as a guided space to reflect, feel, and connect. In each Circles of Humanity session, you will be led through conversations and activities that explore the human impact of the Holocaust. The sessions provide space to consider what it means to be an upstander in today’s world and how each of us can create ripples of humanity in our communities.

Whether you’ve studied the Holocaust for years or are encountering these stories for the first time, Circles of Humanity offers a way to engage with the exhibition that’s grounded in empathy and action.

Where and when is it?

Circles of Humanity will be offered once a month through the run of Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. Each session will take place at 2 p.m. in the Winds of Change Theater. That’s inside the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center located within Union Terminal.

How much does it cost?

Circles of Humanity sessions are free and open to those who visited Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.

I went to a session. How can I dive deeper?

The horrors of the Holocaust stretched beyond Auschwitz. To give you a closer look at the stories that shape our community and the lessons they continue to teach about our humanity, the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center will offer admission for a discounted rate of $7.50 for those who have visited Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. You can redeem your discounted admission for up to six months after your visit to the exhibition.

Why it matters

This exhibition confronts us with uncomfortable truths. It asks us not just to look back, but to reflect on how we live today. Circles of Humanity offers a chance to do that, with supportive guidance and in a community.
