Meet Dr. Nicholette Kasman, the pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist bringing the science of character strengths into one of the highest-pressure environments in medicine. At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Kasman decided to approach her job with new insight after receiving training in positive psychology. How would medical professionals respond to being asked to pay attention to what their colleagues were doing well, what specific characteristics made their influence on the team and the patients better, and celebrating wins in addition to the myriad medical tasks before them?
