Located at Cincinnati’s historic Union Terminal, the train station where numerous Holocaust survivors arrived in Cincinnati to rebuild their lives, HHC is the only Holocaust museum in the United States with an authentic connection to its site. Every Wednesday, you can join us via Zoom for our well-attended Holocaust Speaker Series, sponsored by Margaret & Michael Valentine. HHC has a VARIETY OF RESOURCES, workshops, and programs to help educators increase and gain knowledge of Holocaust history, assisting in making connections to our world today. Some resources we have for students and educators include:
- HOLOCAUST STUDIES FOR EDUCATORS INSTITUTE — a summer institute for educators featuring leading experts in the field of Holocaust Studies
- BOOK A SPEAKER— including Holocaust survivors — to come to your school.
- REQUEST A TRAVELING EXHIBIT to come to your school or RESERVE AN ECHOING VOICES SUITCASE LEARNING ACTIVITY for students.
- Nominate a student for YOUTH LEADERSHIP DAY.
4. Learn from history. BE AN UPSTANDER.
You might ask yourself, “What would I have done during the Holocaust?” Instead, ask yourself what you can do right now. Upstanders are individuals who stand up for others and their rights. They fight against injustice and unfairness, and they use their character strengths to inspire action and become the best of humanity today. The Cincy Upstander Project aims to inspire our community to become upstanders through a city-wide art campaign, monthly programs, museum tours, and training opportunities.
